Deltar Electrical is an electrical business working across the Western Cape. We look after homes, rentals, shops and business sites. Small jobs and big jobs.

We do all electrical jobs: wiring, tubing, fault finding, maintenance, solar installation and maintenance, and C.O.C. If your lights keep tripping, if you are selling your house and need a certificate, or if you want solar and a battery for loadshedding — that is our work.

Certificate of compliance

Need a C.O.C?

A Certificate of Compliance says your electrical installation is safe and done to standard. In South Africa you need a valid one when you sell a property, and most banks and insurers will ask for it too.

Questions

Things people ask us

Yes, if you are selling or transferring a property. South African law says the owner must hand over a valid certificate for the electrical installation. You also need a new one if electrical work has been done since the last certificate was issued.
Two years, as long as nothing has been changed or added to the installation in that time. If someone has done work on the wiring since, the old certificate no longer covers it and a new inspection is needed.
Usually it is earth leakage — a faulty appliance, a geyser element on its way out, water in an outside plug, or old wiring that has broken down. It is the board doing its job and protecting you. We test each circuit until we find which one is causing it, instead of guessing.
Only if you have a battery and the right inverter. Panels on their own shut down when the grid goes off, for safety. If staying on during loadshedding is the main reason you want solar, tell us up front and we will size the battery for that.
Yes. We service and repair existing systems — inverter faults, battery problems, panels that are not producing what they should, and wiring that was not done properly the first time.
Yes. We look at the job, then tell you what it will cost before any work begins. If we open something up and find more than we expected, we stop and talk to you first.
Yes. We work on 3-phase installations, main boards, commercial AC combiner boxes and larger solar systems, as well as normal house work.
